Welcome to Road Runner LoWs!  We are the New Mexico Chapter of Loners On Wheels, a group of single people that love to travel.

2009  Campout Schedule

June 25-28  BLM Campground off Hwy 117

 From Grants NM take I40E to Hwy 117S about 5 miles to c/g on L  BNDK Free

July 23-26 Heron Lake State Park

  From Chama NM take Hwy 84S to SR95, then W about 10 mi to SP. Park Pass or $14 FHU

Aug 20-23 Russia Canyon

Sep 28-Oct 3  LoW 4oth Anniversary, Goshen IN

Oct 28-31 HalLOWeen Happening  LoW-Hi RV Park, Deming NM  Reservations suggested.  $10 fee for Road Runner members, $15 for non-members.

President's Message

Now that the camping season is in full swing, let's get crackin'.  I don't know what it means to "get crackin'" but, it's an expression I've always liked.  The May campout was different, to say the least.  The day before it was to begin, Sandra Carpenter had an accident on her motor scooter and ended up in the hospital.  She has extensive damage to her right knee and leg and will be doing rehab for quite some time.  Sue Swanne and Kathy Purcell visited the Alien Museum in Roswell and we all visited Sandra in the hospital.  The upcoming June campout promises to be more in line with our "sight-seeing" nature.  We are planning a trip to the underground mining museum in Grants and the Acoma Indian Pueblo.

We had a great time at the Albuquerque RV Rally.  We were able to talk to so many people and tell them all about the advantages of joining Loners on Wheels and our New Mexico Chapter, Road Runners.

It is getting very warm here in the SW desert and those of us that are "desert rats" are loving it.  Our campout schedule will be lots of fun and we will see some beautiful places.

Come and join us for all the fun!  You can visit us at any of the campouts two times before becoming a Road Runner member.
